P1X at PixelHeaven 2015 With their game Tanks of Freedom

In late September, Warsaw Film School hosted the third edition of Pixel Heaven. The main points of the event were, as always, exhibitions of old computers on which the visitors could play old computer games.

There were old Nintendo, Sega, and Pegasus consoles, Commodore, Atari, and Amiga computers, and other exotic constructions. You could find them all presented among the stands with renewed and new Pinballs and those with cardboard games.

The visitors could also attend a lecture on retro games or meetings with renowned people from the video game industry, and domestic and foreign journalists. This year’s guests were Jon “Jops” Hare (Sensible Software), Dino Dini (Kick Off series), Sam Barlow (Silent Hill, Her Story), and Jeff Minter.

Apart from the retro games, the Indie Basement offered a chance to take a look at the games created by Polish independent studios. Out P1X team was there as well, represented by Wojciech, Senior Software Developer and Paweł, Software Developer.

At our stand, the visitors could play our free game: Tanks of Freedom. We were positively surprised with how well-received our product was, especially among the youngest visitors. Tanks of Freedom is a classic turn-based strategy designed in a pixelart style. The goal of the players is to capture the headquarters of the enemy and defend their own one. The units available in the game are infantry, tanks, and helicopters. The game can be played on one of the 14 campaign maps or those created by the users in the map editor.

We were also present at this year’s edycji Game Industry Conference at PGA in Poznań and at Digital Dragons in Cracow. At both these events we presented our games at our own stand in the Indie Developers room.
