In the first week of July, several members of our team went to Wrocław (Poland) to give talks at the Why R? 2018 Conference.
We gave a couple of talks (and won a hackathon) at the first edition of the conference last year in Warsaw. We were blown away by the passion for building the Polish R community shown by the organising committee’s led by Marcin Kosiński. This year Marcin passed the baton to Michał Burdukiewicz. Big thanks to the two gentlemen for doing this important work.
For those of you who liked (or missed) our talks this year, here are the slides:
- Krzysztof Jędrzejewski talked about using the GPU for speeding up custom models in R.
- Mikołaj Bogucki talked about simplifying machine learning workflows with DVC.
- Mateusz Otmianowski talked about usability testing of data products.
- Gosia Schmidt talked about the best way to prepare for a career in data science.
We hope to see you at Why R? 2019!
